Frisbee and Golf is Discgolf

What is that – you might ask? Discgolf is played with Frisbee discs and functions, as the name suggests, similarly to golf. There is a throwing zone (tee) and a basket (hole) as finishing point . One should approach and land the disc in the basket, with as few throws as possible.
The unique location of the 18 basket downhill-course -with the start at 1,850 m, the finish at 1,400 m and spectacular views of the Zeller See and the surrounding mountain ranges - makes it unrivalled. Furthermore, it is the highest situated discgolf-course in Europe. You can borrow the discs against a deposit of € 10,- at the InfoCenter of the Schmittenhöhebahn valley station, at the Sonnkogel restaurant and at the Schmiedhofalm.
From summer 2011 there are 3 new baskets on the course, so that there is a profi-line and an easy-line at the baskets no.2, no.3 and no.4 now.
Currently the record holders on the Schmitten discgolf-course are Harald Dehner (DKT - Wels)
and Otfried Derschmidt (Discgolfclub Graz) with a score of 54.
