Hill Farm Walk on the Schmitten

This year for the first time, a guided walk will take place every Tuesday, from the Schmittenhöhe to the popular Hochsonnbergalm in the locality of Piesendorf.

every Thuesday from June 14, 2011 until October 4, 2011

about 4 hours incl. lift ride

 

Costs:

up and down trip adult € 22,00
(Pinzgau GuestCard € 19,50)

up and down trip € 16,80
up and down trip children € 11,00

Equipment:

sturdy footwear, hiking and rain gear

Route:

The walkers meet the walking guide at 9:15 a.m. at the Schmittenhöhebahn valley station and travel up together at 9:30 a.m. At a leisurely pace along the picturesque Pinzgauer Way, arrival at the Hochsonnbergalm is in around 1 1/2 hours. There, the group is welcomed by the landlord and lady and enjoys a special hut and alm tour with an explanation of the running of the alm, care of the animals, cheese-making and life on the alm.
Of course, a break is not to be missed, where everyone can refuel according to their taste.

Afterwards, the return is again along the Pinzgauer Way back to the Schmittenhöhebahn, where the group arrive at around 14:00 p.m.

The walking guide and alm tour are free, the guests only pay for the up and down ride and food and drink consumed at the Hochsonnbergalm.
