The view sweeps endlessly over the breathtaking mountain world all around. The Schmittenhöhe is quite rightly described as Austria's most beautiful panoramic mountain, and a visit is always worthwhile - in summer and winter alike. And the fresh mountain air also inspires good ideas. This was the case in the winter of 2003, when Franz F. Schmalzl and Hermann Kaufmann thought about organising a new nostalgic ski race on Zell's local mountain. With lots of fun and enjoyment for all participants and spectators.
On 21 February 2026, up to 150 participants from many nations (Germany, Slovenia, Italy, England, Bavaria, Tyrol and of course Pinzgau) will once again make NostalSki the biggest nostalgic ski race in the Alps.
Together with the Schmittenhöhe team and the Zell am See Ski Club, nostalgics will be offered a marvellous day of skiing "in the old days".
NostalSki is a must for all fans of nostalgia and absolute "fun" - for participants and spectators alike.
