If you go skiing on the Schmittenhöhe, you’re spending a day at the sunny one of the Salzburger Land region’s ski resorts. Because 80 percent of the slopes are in perfectly sunny locations. Winter sports fans can enjoy their time to the fullest on 77 kilometres of slopes – all of them as varied as you wish and perfect for beginners, returners and passionate skiers.

You’re visiting the Schmittenhöhe without skis or a snowboard? That’s great! Because Zell’s landmark mountain offers a whole host of activities off the slopes and for non-skiers. From winter and snowshoe hiking to a relaxing afternoon on one of the sun decks of the many mountain restaurants and rustic huts. 

For those who are into culture and the arts, the region offers a lot of options as well. For instance, how about a visit to the “Areit 1400” exhibition? At the mountain station of the Schmittenhöhe, you’ll find another highlight: the “90 years of tradition & innovation” exhibition.

In the cold winter months, 23 huts, restaurants and après-ski bars serve you delicacies from the region and international culinary highlights. Kaiserschmarrn, Pinzgauer Bauerngröstl, tarte flambée or a hearty steak: Culinary joys play an important role during every perfect (holi)day on the Schmittenhöhe! And for après-ski fans, there are several locations to have a “goodbye” drink or two after an eventful ski day.
