Tickets for dog owners
Please purchase a separate ticket for your dog at the cable car ticket offices before heading up the mountain. This also applies to holders of a Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card or the ALPIN CARDs – 365 Action, 365 Classic or Hike.
Prices for dogs: Fee of € 8,00
Please note:
- Dogs must be muzzled and kept on a lead on all cable cars. Muzzles can be purchased at the valley stations for a fee of € 15,00.
- Dogs must be kept on a lead on all roads and trails on the Schmittenhöhe.
- Please carry and use your own dog waste bags and dispose of them in the rubbish bins.
Important information regarding the tickets
Child carriers can be rented at the ticket offices for a fee of € 19,00 for the duration of your excursion on the Schmittenhöhe. An ID must be deposited as collateral.
Parents only pay for the first two children (born 2010–2019). Any additional children in the family (born 2010 or later) get to use the cable cars for free!
Discounted tickets are available for school groups of at least 10 people as part of a school trip up to 13th grade (students born no earlier than 2007). Please send an enquiry to schmitten@schmitten.at.

Season ticket: Hike ALPIN CARD
valid from 02.05.2025 to 02.11.2025
An entire summer brimming with hiking bliss is waiting for you! If you prefer to spend the warmer months in the mountains, the Hike ALPIN CARD will help quench your thirst for adventure.
With this season ticket, you can hike ...
- the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See (excluding bike transport),
- Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn (excluding bike transport),
- Kitzsteinhorn and Maiskogel in Kaprun (excluding skiers, ski tourers and mountain bikers).
Important information regarding the Hike ALPIN CARD
- Children born in 2020 or younger travel free when accompanied by their parents.
- The children’s fare applies to those born between 2010–2019.
- The youths’ fare applies to those born between 2007–2009.
If families purchase Hike ALPIN CARDs for their two oldest children or youths, they receive free Hike ALPIN CARDs for all other younger children in the same family (born in 2007 or later). Proof of family allowance (Austria) or child benefit certificate (Germany) required.

Important information regarding the tickets for hang-gliders and paragliders
Whether it’s a single ride up the mountain, a day or the whole season: Every ticket for hang-gliders and paragliders includes the flying site fee and equipment transport.
Note on transport: In case of an (over)abundance of guests, transport of hang-gliders may be temporarily paused. As soon as conditions permit, transport will resume immediately. Please note that hang-gliders can only be transported on the Schmittenhöhebahn cable car!
Hike & Swim Ticket for Zell am See-Kaprun

The TAUERN SPA in Kaprun is not included.

Important information about group prices
Minimum number of participants 20 people/ closed ticket sales by one responsible person/ 1 free ticket for every 20 tickets purchased. Bus drivers also receive a free ticket (bus authorisation required).
For groups of 20 or more (one free ticket per 20) - Further information: Tel. 06542/789-500 or email schiff@schmitten.at. Group bookings: Reservations must be made in writing at least 1 week in advance. Cancellation fee: 50% within one week, 100% within 24 hours before the reserved date.
Is possible at every facility and on the boat - ticket required for a fee. Leashes and muzzles are compulsory.

Mobility Card Pinzgau
With the mobility card, overnight guests in Zell am See-Kaprun can use all public transport (train, post buses, Pinzgauer Lokalbahn) free of charge to explore the holiday region. This allows you to travel to all the highlights and excursion destinations in a more relaxed and eco-friendly manner.
Every guest receives the Mobility Card Pinzgau at their accommodation from the first night.
