Since the summer season 2026, new wooden marble runs on the Schmittenhöhe have been providing fun, play and variety on the mountain.

There is something new to discover on the Schmittenhöhe: since the summer season 2026, new marble runs have been enriching the adventure offer on Zell am See's local mountain. Whether as a playful break while hiking or as a highlight for the little explorers, the marble runs provide even more family fun surrounded by the mountain scenery.

New highlight at Schmidolin's Baptism of Fire

There is a new station to discover at Schmidolin's Baptism of Fire near the mountain station of the areitXpress. A marble run has been added as the 19th station along the adventure trail which is all about Schmidolin, the Schmitten dragon.

Marble run along the High-Altitude Promenade

New marble runs are also waiting for guests big and small along the High-Altitude Promenade between the summit of the Schmittenhöhe and the Sonnkogelbahn mountain station, making the popular family hike even more varied.

The matching wooden balls are available at the InfoCenter areitXpress and trassXpress, at the BergInfo at the Schmittenhöhebahn mountain station, at Berghotel Schmittenhöhe and from the vending machines near the marble runs.
