Schmittenhöhebahn AG is investing in its team’s quality of life with newly built staff housing in the Schüttdorf district of Zell am See. This sustainably designed building is a comfortable, modern retreat for team members.

The building comprises 29 one-room flats (24 m² each) and four two-room flats (40 m² each), all designed for maximum functionality and comfort. The amenities include:

The new staff residence of Schmittenhöhebahn AG features an environmentally-friendly energy system, with a state-of-the-art heat pump providing energy-efficient underfloor heating.

A 352-square-metre photovoltaic system on the roof – with an impressive output of 75 kilowatts peak (kWp) – generates eco-friendly electricity, powering the building and in-house EV-charging stations for cars and bikes.

Awarded klimaaktiv Gold

Schmittenhöhebahn AG has been awarded klimaaktiv Gold for its employee residence Areit 2, the highest rating of the Austrian klimaaktiv building standard. With 906 out of 1.000 possible points, the building meets particularly high requirements in terms of energy efficience, construction quality, sustainability and living comfort.

The award underlines Schmittenhöhebahn AG's commitment to combining modern employee accomodation with sustainable infrastructure and ecological responsibility.

Leisure and community spaces: from a rooftop terrace to fitness facilities

Beyond private flats, the building offers several communal spaces for leisure activities. The rooftop terrace, complete with a lush rooftop garden, is a favourite gathering spot during the warmer months. Residents also have access to a laundry room equipped with four washing machines, and plans are underway for a fitness area.
